A FRIGHTENING NEW STORY BEGINS WITH “IF IT SCARES YOU: DEAD WHISPERS,” DEBUTING THIS FALL

A chilling new chapter begins in 2024 with If It Scares You: Dead Whispers, an audio series event inspired by the popular horror podcast, announced today during a live episode and panel at the Treefort Music Festival in Boise, Idaho. The miniseries will take viewers and fans alike on a terrifying adventure spanning across audio, prose and more.

Dead Whispers will follow 16-year-old Clara Munroe, who after being kicked out of boarding school moves to the sleepy town of Reaper, Idaho to stay with her new foster family. Things seem to look up when she meets Ruby, a bubbly classmate, but the girls soon find themselves entangled in a dark mystery involving a lonesome murder, a missing group of townspeople, and an evil entity known as Mr. Whisper.

The new miniseries updates the familiar format of the If It Scares You podcast for a young adult audience, bringing aged-up spooks and a serialized story across 6 super-sized episodes.

Fans will be able to access a new “chapter” of the story every week beginning Autumn 2024 on all podcast platforms. Additional audio episodes will supplement each episode of Dead Whispers as they drop on the official If It Scares You podcast channel, while spooky short stories, behind-the-scenes videos, and more will be published over at the brand-new ifitscaresyou.com. 

If It Scares You began as a limited audio series in October 2020 and has since expanded into new iterations of full-cast, audio adventures aimed at ages 12 and up. The series has produced spooky tales blending frightening with funny, with a new sleight of episodes releasing this fall. The brand will soon be expanding into further audio series, middle-grade novels, and more. The original audio series was created by Jonah Leisure and Garrett Ryan.

If It Scares You: Dead Whispers was created by Jonah Leisure, who produces the series alongside Garrett Ryan. Additional episodes were written by Brett Shaffer and Abby Price. Announcements regarding casting, release info and more will be revealed soon.
